The Super Ranch Custom Field
Realflight G5 is a fabulous RC simulator, and I encourage you to purchase it if you haven’t already. It’s great for those cold winter days when you can’t go flying, or just for learning how to fly RC planes if you’re new to the hobby.
I recently decided we need a really cool multiplayer scene, to really help out with the new combat functionality RealFlight G5 now has (it’s heaps of fun!).
This scene I’ve come up with -named “Super Ranch” – has been built with two aims -an awesome multiplayer (combat) map, and offering a proper bungee launch for glider fans.
Multiplayer features:
- distributed spawn points to encourage players to spread around the map
- in-air starting locations to ensure players are immediately back in the action when you re-spawn
- three shields evenly placed (in challenging locations) across the length of the scene, again to encourage players to move out from a central location
- a single repair sprite, low on the ground and in a very open area – so it’s a risk to get, but oh-so worthwhile if you succeed!
For Glider Fans:
- the water tank work area also doubles as the glider launch site.
- from here your glider will be launched at 200ft, and you can look out at the runway and club from a distance.
To enable your gliders to be launched off the bungee, you need to make a quick change. Edit your favourite glider and change the launch method from “Hand Launch” to “From Ground”. Then save it as a new model. (See screenshot below).
General stuff
I’ve gone to a bit of an effort to make this map look good too. So please respect the hay bails, water towers, stored tractors, 1/8 Piper Cub model, toolbox and avenue shrubs by not shooting them up too much as you pass.
I hope you like it as much as I have done making it!
